To support The Nathan S. Kline Research Institute’s (NKI) critical mission to improve the lives of people suffering from disabling psychiatric disorders through the discovery of new ways to detect and treat them, JLGA is currently designing a 2,000 SF Imaging Bay addition to Building 39 at the NKI campus. The JLGA team will also design the renovation and rehabilitation of adjacent structures to the new addition.
The new addition is being expressly designed to house a new 9.4 Tesla Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) unit, a relatively uncommon, ultra-high field strength machine.
Special design considerations include shielding requirements for the radio frequency electromagnetic interference and magnetic fringe fields for this leading-edge research facility—as well as for the immediately adjacent facilities.
