PS 85 Pre-K to 5 School

JLGA is currently working with the NYC SCA to design a freestanding, 68,000 SF school annex that will offer expanded facilities and an optimized learning environment to better serve the students of PS 85 in Queens. The Annex, will accommodate over 400 students with 7 classrooms for Pre-K and Kindergarten, 15 academic classrooms for grades 1-5, cafeteria, and gym-auditorium. The project budget is $80 million.

In support of the client’s goals to make this new learning facility a model of sustainable design and the most energy efficient in the borough of Queens, JLGA has integrated a range of sustainable design solutions into the final design, closely referencing the SCA’s own studies of practical energy conservation measures for the city’s public schools.
