JLGA is currently in the Construction Administration phase of a new 68,000 SF school annex that will offer expanded facilities and an optimized learning environment to better serve the students of PS-85 in Queens. The new Annex will accommodate over 400 students with 7 classrooms for Pre-K and Kindergarten, 15 academic classrooms for grades 1-5, cafeteria, and gym-auditorium. The project budget is $80 million.
In support of the client’s goals to make this new learning facility a model of sustainable design and the most energy efficient in the borough of Queens, JLGA has integrated a range of sustainable design solutions into the final design, closely referencing the SCA’s own studies of practical energy conservation measures for the city’s public schools.
