JLGA designed an 8,600 sq. ft. community health center in a newly built multi-story building spanning the Brighton Beach and Coney Island neighborhoods of Brooklyn. The center includes doctors’ offices, exam rooms, a reception area, and a café alcove, with a focus on making medical services more accessible to the underserved community.
The design emphasizes a welcoming atmosphere, featuring a blend of stone, wood, and glass in the lobby to create a light-filled, positive entry for patients and staff. A soothing color palette of sea greens, sandy grays, and vibrant greens nods to the center’s coastal location, while local artwork celebrates the legacy of Coney Island.
The space combines a modern aesthetic with warmth through carefully selected materials and furnishings, creating a place that is both inviting and contemporary, offering a sense of community pride and well-being.
